Women's Soccer Keeps Win Streak Alive

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Soccer team continued their dominating win streak on Saturday against the Corning Community College Red Barons. The Lakers won 8-0.

The game was a very physical one, and the Lakers managed to keep their cool and play like they have been for the past five games. In the first half, the Lakers scored the majority of their goals. The first of the day was scored by Jessica Swalbach with an assist for Alexandra VanGee. At exactly thirteen minutes into the game, Jordan Naeye scored the second goal of the game. A little over ten minutes more into the game, Alexis Gossage started her scoring off with a pass from Melanie Gleason. Gossage would score three more goals before the half ended. She was assisted by Cassidy Niver for her second, and by Swalbach for her third. She was unassisted for her fourth goal. They went into halftime up 6-0.

It took a little time for the Lakers to start their scoring again. Allison Smith scored the first goal of the second half from Hannah Galloway. The final goal of the game was a good penalty kick from Danielle Zweigle. There were cards from both teams, but the Lakers still pulled out their win, 8-0.
