Women's Soccer Wins Second Straight Game

CORNING, N.Y. - Women's soccer picked up its second straight win after earning a 5-2 victory over Corning Community Saturday afternoon to improve to 4-3-1 on the season. 

A strong first-half fueled the Lakers' attack, as freshman Halee Passarell (Holley, N.Y./ Holley) found the net first off an assist from sophomore Nichaela Commisso (Rushville, N.Y./ Marcus Whitman) in the eighth minue of the game for a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Sarah Nelson (Bloomfield, N.Y./ Bloomfield) rounded out the first-half scoring for FLCC off from a feed from Passarell in the 21st minute, and the Lakers took a 2-0 lead into halftime. 

Passarell started off the second-half scoring for the Lakers, scoring off an assist from Jayden Perot in the 67th minute. Sophomore midfielder Jenny Easling (Red Creek, N.Y./ Red Creek) extended the lead to 4-0 off a feed from sophomore Allie Bowe (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) in the 72nd minute, and Perot pushed the lead to 5-0 on a direct kick goal three minutes later. 

Freshman goalie Mackenzie Johnson-Boser (Dansville, N.Y./Dansville) made three big saves on the day for FLCC, which kicks off a three-game homestand Tuesday when Genesee Community College comes to campus for a 7 p.m. match.
