CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – Finger Lakes Community College Women's Soccer picked up a 2-0 conference win over the Lazer of Onondaga Community College Monday night. The Lakers defensive front held strong the entirety of the match, allowing only 6 shots for a even 6 saves for Freshman goalie Mackenzie Johnson-Boser (Dansville, N.Y./ Dansville).
The Lakers got ahead early in the second minute of the game, with a goal from Morgan Collazo (Victor, N.Y./ Victor), assisted by Allie Bowe (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) off from a corner kick. Going into the break, the Lakers held strong, securing a 1-0 lead.
The Lakers looked to extend their lead early in the second half and the Lakers did just that, growing their lead to 2-0. Sophomore Allie Bowe scored her 2nd goal of the game, off an assist from Halee Passarell (Holley, N.Y./ Holley) in the 58'.
The defense held strong for the Lakers to help secure the shutout win against the Lazers. The win puts the team at 5-4-1 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.
The Lakers return to action when they travel to Niagara County Community College on Oct. 6th in a 2 P.M. match. The Lakers next home match takes place when SUNY ESF comes to campus on Sunday, Oct. 10th in a 10 A.M. matchup.
