Lakers Hold Regional Opponent Scoreless on the Road

ELMA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team traveled to Sahlen Stadium in Elma, N.Y. for a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region III matchup.

After suffering a close 1-2 loss to the SUNY ESF Mighty Oaks in the season opener, the Lakers would rebound against the Jamestown Community College Jayhawks, who the team would hold scoreless in a 3-0 final. Sophomore Allie Bowe (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) would pick up a goal and an assist in the game. Bowe would chip in the goal to start the scoring for the squads in the first half. After a strong showing in her last game, Ella Lewis (Lyondville, N.Y./ Lyndonville) would shine, chipping in one goal in the first half, along with a final goal for the Lakers in the second half.

Sophomore Grace Hall (Honeoye, N.Y./ Honeoye) would have a strong showing in the goal, holding the Jayhawks scoreless and making 5 saves in the contest.

The Lakers will look to build off a strong win in their next game against the Herkimer Generals on Saturday, September 3rd.
