Women's Soccer Blanks Cannoneers for Third Shutout of the Season

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Lakers women's soccer team hosted the visiting Jefferson Cannoneers for a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) contest. The Lakers would control the time of possession in the game, earning their third shutout of the season in a 2-0 finale. The Lakers' active offense would generate 19 shots and 10 shots on goal. 

Sophomore Allie Bowe (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) would pick up the Laker's first goal in just the 1st minute of the game. The Cannoneers made adjustments to their defense to thwart the Laker's attack, holding them to the 1-0 advantage heading into the break. The team would pick up their second goal of the matchup in the 81st minute off the foot of Natalie Lecceardone (Manchester, N.Y./ Red Jacket).

Lakers Sophomore Grace Hall (Honeoye, N.Y./ Honeoye) would make 4 saves on the Cannoneers 4 shots on goal. Hall would pick up her third shutout of the season in the matchup.

The Lakers saw consistent defense from midfielder Halee Passarell (Holley, N.Y./ Holley), along with defenders Jenna Tenney (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) and Riley Mason (Rochester, N.Y./ Hilton), who broke up several offensive opportunities for the Cannoneers.

The team will hit the road on Sunday, September 18th for a matchup with the Genesee Community College Cougars who currently sits at #4 in the NJCAA Division III women's soccer rankings.
