Lakers Drop Home Game in Non-Region Matchup

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team hosted the visiting Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton - Syracuse for a non-region matchup on the Laker's multi-use turf field. The Bobcat's attack proved to be too much, as the Lakers would be shutout in a 4-0 finish.

The Bobcats would come out quick, scoring a goal in the 8th minute of the game to go ahead 1-0 early in the 1st half. Shortly after, the Lakers were awarded a penalty kick on a Bobcat foul in the box. Freshman Ella Lewis (Lyndonville, N.Y./ Lyndonville) would make a good attempt that was saved by Bobcat goalie Maria Cordeiro. Lewis would finish with 3 shots on goal on the night.

Allie Bowe (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) would pick up 2 shots on goal out of 3 total shots, and Jenna Tenney (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) would pick up the Laker's final shot on goal.

Lakers Sophomore Grace Hall (Honeoye, N.Y./ Honeoye) picked up the start in goal for the team, making 9 saves in 90 minutes of play.

The Lakers will regroup this Saturday when they host the visiting Lazers from Onondaga Community College in an NJCAA Region III matchup at 12 PM.
