Lakers Erupt for 7 Goals in Regional Matchup

SANBORN, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team traveled to Niagara County Community College Wednesday night for an NJCAA Region III matchup with the Thunderwolves. The Lakers would put their offensive firepower to work, erupting for 7 goals in a 7-1 finale. 

Sophomore Morgan Collazo (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) broke open the scoring for the Lakers, after receiving a feed from Freshman Riley Mason (Rochester, N.Y./ Hilton) to go ahead 1-0. Freshman Ella Lewis (Lyndonville, N.Y./ Lyndonville) scored one of her two goals with an assist from Halee Passarell (Holley, N.Y./ Holley). Freshman Riley Mason picked up her second assist of the match, feeding Ella Lewis for her second goal to go up 3-0.

After feeding two of her teammates for goals, Allie Bowe (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) returned the favor Riley Mason, who picked up her first goal of the year. Allie Bowe would add to her goal total on the season, scoring two goals in the match, one assisted by Freshman Ella Lewis. The Lakers continued to fire on all cylinders in the match. Freshman Sierra Somers (Mount Morris, N.Y./ Mount Morris) earned her first goal of the season in the match, scoring off a feed from teammate Allie Bowe.

With the win, the Lakers improve to 8-5 on the season. The Lakers will round off the regular season at home, first, against Bryant & Stratton Syracuse on Saturday, October 15th at 1 PM. The Lakers will then host William Smith for the regular season finale on October 18th with a 6:30 PM start.
