Women's Soccer Drops Conference Match

WATERTOWN, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team traveled to Jefferson Community College for a Mid-State Athletic Conference match. The game marked the Lakers' 5th match in regional play and 3rd in conference play. The Jefferson Cannoneers would come out on top in a lopsided 9-0 victory on their home field.

Teammates Kailee Lewis (Bloomfield, N.Y./ Bloomfield)Lauren Lanning (Victor, N.Y./ Victor), and Lauren Bluett (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) would each earn the start and have a shot on goal. Freshman Madison Belawske (Waterloo, N.Y./ Waterloo) would come off the bench and make an impact with one shot on goal in the match.

Earning her first start in goal this season was Sidney Reed (Yorkshire, N.Y./ Pioneer) who made 2 saves on the night to thwart the Cannoneers attack.

Despite the strong effort, the Lakers fell short in their 5th loss of the season. The team will look to make a statement against #1 Genesee Community College on Saturday, September 16th when the Lakers host the Cougars on the FLCC multi-use turf.
