Tallman Finishes With 24 Saves in Non-Region Battle

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team hosted their second-straight home match, this time against the visiting St. John Fisher University Cardinals. After ending last year's match in a 5-5 tie, both sides looked ahead to the anticipated match vying for a win. The Cardinals dynamic offense which only fell to a #1 Genesee Community College squad, 1-0 would come out on top in Wednesday's match with a 5-0 victory.

The highlight of the match for the Lakers was sophomore goalkeeper Quynn Tallman (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) who had a historic night on the pitch. The sophomore in only her second start of the season finished with a game-high 24 saves. Tallman's save total marks the 5th most in a match in women's soccer program history.

Tallman made several key saves on a flury of shots to slow down the Cardinals offense who had 40 shots on the evening. Tallman's strong performance comes after an impressive debut performance on sophomore day where she would make 18 saves in a 3-1 defeat to SUNY Broome Community College.

Tallman and the team will look to find motivation from the impressive performance and carry that into their next match this coming Saturday, September 30th at 3:15 PM against the North Country Community College Saints.
