DRYDEN, N.Y. - In what has been an up-and-down year for the FLCC women's soccer team, the Lakers continued to fight and give it their all in each match. Their hard work paid off as they earned a shutout victory over the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panthers at the TC Turf Field.
Sophomore Kailee Lewis (Bloomfield, N.Y./ Bloomfield) netted the game-winning goal for the Lakers in the 24' to lift the team to their first victory of the season. Fellow sophomore Georgia Luft (Elba, N.Y./ Elba) fed Lewis the pass on the eventual game-winner. Sophomore Quynn Tallman (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) stood strong in the net, making 8 saves in a complete game to hold the Panthers scoreless.
The Lakers will return home for their season finale on Monday, October 9th for a non-region match with the SUNY ESF Mighty Oaks at the FLCC Multi-use Turf Facility at 5:30 PM. The team will look to carry their momentum over in front of a home crowd.
