Bio

Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) announced Jim Bathgate as the next head coach of the FLCC men's and women's track and field teams in the summer of 2021. In the spring of 2022, his first at the helm, Bathgate led the Lakers men's track and field team to a historic finish, securing the program's first ever NJCAA Region III, Division III Championship. 

On May 13th, at the NJCAA Division III National Championship, Bathgate earned recognition for his historic accomplishment in year one, claiming the honor of NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field East Region Men's Coach of the Year. Bathgate would lead both the men's and women's programs that year to top-10 team finishes in the NJCAA Division III National Championships with the men coming in at 7th place and the women earning a 6th place finishes. In all, the Lakers would compete in 17 events over 3 day championship, with 7 student-athletes earning 8 All-American accolades.

In 2023 and his second season with the program, Bathgate helped lead sophomore Leah Lloyd (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) to her second consecutive NJCAA Division III National Championship in the 3000m steeplechase.
