Lakers Lose in Three to Onondaga Community College

The Lakers traveled to Onondaga Community College where they lost in three by scores of 7-25, 23-25, 21-25. The Lakers struggled in the first set, but fought hard in sets two and three. They jumped out to an early lead in the third set in hopes of forcing a fourth, but Onondaga was able to close the gap and pull ahead to close out the match.

Ryenn Smith and Courtney Bradish led the Lakers with 8 kills a piece and 10 and 9 digs respectively. Christina Denniston chipped in 8 digs, with Jessie Blumenfeld contributing 9 assists and 7 digs.

"We committed too many unforced errors and Onondaga took advantage of that. We will use this match as a learning experience and will look to improve going into this weekend", said head coach Matt Barr.

The Lakers will travel to Jefferson Community College this Saturday, September 7th to play in the Jefferson Community College Volleyball Invitational. They are scheduled to play Corning Community College at 11:15 a.m., Jefferson Community College at 1:45 p.m., and Mohawk Valley Community College at 4:15 p.m. At the conclusion of pool play, teams will be reseeded for playoffs.
