Women's Volleyball Finishes 2-1 at Broome POD

The women's volleyball team finished 2-1 in the Region III POD at Broom Community College on Saturday, October 15. The Lakers are now 17-8 overall this season.

The Lakers faced Tompkins Cortland Community College in their first match of the day where they defeated the Panthers in three sets: 25-8, 25-12, and 25-12. Next, the Lakers were defeated by Broome Community College in three sets: 17-25, 24-26, and 23-25.  In their final match of the day, the Lakers topped Corning Community College in four sets: 25-14, 26-24, 18-25, and 25-22.  In their second set against the Red Barons, The Lakers were down 15-5 when they rallied to beat Corning 26-24.  

Madison Joseph and Katie DeJonge led the Lakers with 30 kills and 27 kills, respectively.  Joseph and DeJonge also finished with a combined 57 digs on Saturday.  Katee DeJonge had 78 total digs and 12 service aces.  McKenna Guarase had 19 kills and Brianne Avery had 35 assists.  

The Lakers will conclude their regular season play on Wednesday, October 19 at home when they host the Tribunes from Monroe Community College.  Play is scheduled for 6pm on Putt Moore Court.
