Women's Volleyball Sweeps at Monroe POD

The FLCC women's volleyball team traveled to Monroe CC for a round of regional matchups and swept all three of their opponents on Saturday, september 10.  The sweep improves the Lakers record to 5-3 on the season.

The Lakers began their day by facing SUNY Adirondack and won in four sets: 25-23, 25-11, 19-25, and 25-18.  Next up was Hudson Valley CC who the Lakers defeated in three sets: 25-11, 25-15, and 25-22.  Finally, the Lakers defeated North Country CC in three sets: 25-4, 25-5, and 25-4.  

Madison Joseph had a very productive day for the Lakers with 37 kills and 30 digs.  Katee Martinez added 54 digs, including 30 against SUNY Adirondack, setting a new single game record for the volleyball program.  McKenna Guarasce and Katie DeJonge finished with 17 kills and 10 kills respectively. DeJonge also had 19 service points.  Michelle Richardson had 29 service aces on the day, including 19 against North Country CC, setting a new single game record for the program.  

Up next, the Lakers will host the traveling Spartans from Cayuga CC on Tuesday, September 13.  The match is set to begin at 6pm on Putt Moore Court
