Martinez Breaks Single Game Dig Record at Jefferson POD

Sophomore co-captain Katee Martinez broke the single game record for digs with 32 against Jefferson CC on Saturday, September 17.  She surpassed her own record of 30 digs which she set just one week prior on September 10.  

The women's volleyball team finished 2-1 at the Jefferson POD last weekend. The Lakers began their day facing Cayuga CC and won in three sets: 25-15, 25-17, and 25-18.  Next up, the Lakers defeated Onondaga in four close sets: 11-25, 25-18, 27-25, and 30-28.  Finger Lakes dropped their last matchup of the day against Jefferson CC in three sets: 14-25, 18-25, and 18-25.  

Katee Martinez finished the day with 72 digs.  Madison Joseph and McKenna Guarasce dominated the net with 23 and 22 kills, respectively.  Joseph would add 33 digs on the day.  Taiya Iniguez and Briannae Avery finished with 33 assists apiece.

Next up, the Lakers will host the visiting Red Barons from Corning Community College in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup.  Game time is set for 6pm on Putt Moore Court.
