Women's Volleyball Finishes 2-1 at Region III POD

The Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball team finished 2-1 at last weekends Region III POD play at Jamestown Community College.  

The Lakers began their POD play with a loss to Jamestown Community College in three sets: 14-25, 16-25, and 13-25.  In their second match of the day, The Lakers defeated Erie Community College in three sets:  25-17, 25-20, and 25-23.  Their final match of the day was against Niagara County Community College, in which the Lakers took in four sets: 22-25, 25-8, 25-18, and 25-14.  

Madison Joseph led the Laker with 27 kills and 68 digs on the day.  Melissa Resch would finish with 57 digs.  Michelle Richardson and Katie Dejonge finished with 30 digs apiece.  Lindsay Howell and Katie DeJonge had 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Howell added 12 blocked shots and nine block assists.

Following Saturday's POD play, the Lakers will travel Broome Community College to face the Hornets in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup.  The match is set to begin at 6pm.
