CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Volleyball team had their home opener last Tuesday against the Onondaga Community College Lazers. The Lakers took the match 3-1.
The first set was like a warm-up for the Lakers. It took them a bit to find their groove, and ended up going down 25-16.
They turned everything around in the second set and won 25-17. They kept it going in the third set, and won 25-16. The Lazers tried to make their comeback in the final set, but could not get past the Lakers. The final set was a 25-21 score in favor of the Lakers.
Game leaders for the Lakers were Rachel Simmons with 17 kills, four service aces, and one block, Kady Pierce with 30 assists, 20 digs, and Blake Morrison with five blocks.
