Volleyball Finds First Win In Second POD Match

BATAVIA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Volleyball team competed in the Genesee Community College POD this past Saturday. Their second match was against the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings. The Lakers only needed three sets to take down the Vikings, 3-0.

The Lakers were dominant in the first two sets, winning the first set 25-17, and the second set 25-16. The Vikings put up a better fight in the final set, but could not fight enough, and the Lakers took the set 25-21.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Rachel Simmons with 14 kills, four service aces and two blocks, Kady Pierce with 15 assists, Megan Gass with eight digs, and Lacey Schneider with two blocks.

The Lakers would move on to play the North Country Community College Saints for their final match of the day.
