Lakers Finish Season with Second-Most Wins In FLCC Volleyball History

SANBORN, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Volleyball team competed in the NJCAA Region III Tournament Pool A Championship on Sunday. They played the SUNY Broome Community College Hornets. The Lakers lost in three sets.

After a season of close competition between the Lakers and the Hornets, the Lakers were defeated to end their season on Sunday. They lost 25-16 in the first set, 25-21 in the second set, and 25-19 in the final set of the match.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Rachel Simmons with 16 kills and one block, Kady Pierce with 30 assists, and one service ace, Megan Gass with 20 digs, and one service aces, and Blake Morrison with one block.

The Lakers went 26-12 on their 2018 season. 26 wins ties them for second in the most wins in Laker History. They will be saying goodbye to their eight sophomores. Blake Morrison, Emily Gizowski, Alyssa Fox, Shaniah Jones, Megan Gass, Lacey Schneider, Haydn Carr, and Linda Coleman.
