Lakers Sweep Lazers in Three Sets In Season Opener

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Volleyball team started out their season on a high note against the Onondaga Community College Lazers on Tuesday. The Lakers won in in three sets.

In the first set the Lakers were getting in their rhythm, but stayed dominate. They had five kills, only two errors, and 24 total attacks. They won the set 25-14.

The Lazers were starting to come back in the second set. It wasn't enough. The Lakers had 10 kills, four errors, and 22 total attacks.

The final set was a real show for the Lakers. They had 15 kills, five errors, and 25 total attacks. They won their final set 25-13.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Brandy Morrison with 12 kills and two blocks, Kady Pierce with 13 assists, Kellie Johnson with four service aces, and Marie Rogers with 12 digs.

The Lakers will play their first home game of the season on Wednesday, September 4th. They will face the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers at 6:00pm.
