Lloyd, Rose Place 1-2 for Women's Cross Country

CANANDAIGUA — Running on their home course, freshman Leah Lloyd (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) and classmate Elizabeth Rose placed 1-2 for the Finger Lakes Community College women's cross country team during Saturday's annual Bruce Bridgeman Invitational.

It was the second straight race where Lloyd and Rose captured the top two spots, this time on the 5K course on FLCC's campus.

Lloyd finished in a time of 21 minutes, 44.4 seconds, a seven-minute mile pace, while Rose ran in 22:20.9, good for a 7:12 mile pace. The Lakers' top two runners finished 48 seconds ahead of the rest of the field of 20 runners to claim the top two spots.

FLCC's Erika Moody placed 18th to round out the Lakers' runners.

The Lakers return to action next Saturday morning, traveling to Roberts Wesleyan College to compete in the annual Harry E. Anderson Invitational. The 5K race starts at 11 a.m.
