Women's X/C Dominates at Regional Championship

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Cross Country team competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region III Cross Country Championships. The student-athletes battled the elements with rain making the Finger Lakes Community College course slick.

Lakers Freshman Leah Lloyd (Macedon, N.Y./ Palmyra-Macedon) continued her dominance, securing the 1st place finish and earning the honor of National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Region III, Women's Cross Country Champion. Lloyd finished the course with a time of 22 minutes and 9.02 seconds.

Leah Lloyd's finish earns here the honor of Mid-State Athletic Conference Runner of the Year for her finish. Lloyd also earns a NJCAA, Region III, All-Tournament Selection.

Lakers Freshman Elizabeth Rose earned a 6th place finish for the Lakers, adding another top-10 finish to her season total. Rose completed the course with a time of 24 minutes and 27.5 seconds. Elizabeth Rose's finish earns her a NJCAA, Region III, All Tournament Selection.

Freshman Ericka Moody (Geneva, N.Y./ Geneva) finished in 24th place and 37 minutes and 37.2 seconds. 

With the Lakers finish, the team looks ahead to the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship hosted by Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Georgia on November, 13th
