Baseball Drops Two on Tuesday

The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team finished their Tuesday 0-2 while on their spring break trip in Myrtle Beach, SC.  With the loses, the Lakers fall to 2-4 overall.

The Lakers battled Garrett College in their first match-up on Tuesday.  They were held scoreless for their first six innings of play. The Lakers finally caught fire in the top of the seventh, but it wouldn't be enough to put out a victory.  Garrett College would win by a score of 9-3.

Trevor Bradshaw led the Lakers, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Austin Teets and Kobie Punchard each had one hit.  Punchard added one RBI.  Michael Donofrio pitched four innings for the Lakers, allowing three earned runs after facing 22 batters.  

The Lakers faced Harper College in their final game of the day.  Finger Lakes got on the board first, going up 1-0 after the first inning.  However, Harper would rally to score in five of the six remaining innings to claim a 7-3 victory over the Lakers.

Cody Cooper and Ryan Mullen led the Lakers with three hits apiece.  Cooper would add tow RBI's and scored once.  Brett Otto, Austin Teets, Zac Catlin, Mike Magnanti, and Trevor Bradshaw each had one hit for the Lakers.  Catlin had the final RBI of the day.  Cole DuBois pitched five innings for Finger Lakes, allowing only two earned runs.

The Lakers will continue their spring trip play on Wednesday, March 22 when they face the Vikings from Ocean County College.
