The Lakers Split With Erie in Double-Header

The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team finished 1-and-1 against The Erie Community College Kats on Tuesday, April 18. The Lakers overall record for this season is currently 9-15.

The Lakers came out with a win in the first match, defeating the Kats 5-4. Mike Magnanti, the Lakers short-stop, went 2-for-2 with three runs, two double plays, and four stolen bases.  Cody Cooper finished 2-for-4 with three runs batted in. Nick Ferrino and Chris Karem added two double plays apiece for the Lakers. Michael Donofrio pitched for five innings, allowing seven hits, three earned runs, and striking out two batters.

During the second match, the Lakers fell to the Kats 6-3. Mike Magnanti finished 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one stolen base. Cody Cooper went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one double. Stephen Fredendall allowed six hits while striking out two batters from the mound. Alex Mott pitched for one inning striking out one batter and allowing a single hit.

Following Tuesdays double-header the Lakers will battle the Kats from Erie Community College on Thursday, April 20. The MSAC double-header will be played on FLCC's home baseball diamond 12:30pm.
