A Legacy of Excellence: Celebrating Max Franzone, 2024 FLCC Athletics Hall of Fame Inductee

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - Max Franzone's journey to the Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) Athletics Hall of Fame is a testament to his extraordinary talent and dedication both on and off the baseball diamond. Originally from Nanuet, N.Y., Franzone's leadership and versatility made him a cornerstone of the Lakers baseball program, both during his two seasons as a player and later as a coach.

Franzone joined the Lakers as a transfer student and quickly established himself as an essential player. His athletic versatility was on full display as he manned six different defensive positions throughout his career. At the plate, his impact was undeniable. Franzone boasted a .373 batting average and a .529 on-base percentage, while driving in 63 runs and stealing 44 bases. Beyond the numbers, Franzone's ability to lead by example quickly allowed him to stand out both in the dugout and in the classroom.

His time at FLCC not only showcased his talent but also set the stage for his future in the sport. After his playing days, Franzone returned to FLCC as a hitting coach, where his mentorship and deep knowledge of the game helped shape the next generation of Laker baseball players. His influence didn't stop there. In 2024, he founded the Rochester Seminoles, a youth baseball organization where he continues to guide young athletes, passing on the values of hard work, dedication, and passion for the game.

Franzone's induction into the FLCC Athletics Hall of Fame marks the culmination of a remarkable career, and his legacy at the college will continue to inspire future student-athletes. The FLCC community is proud to honor him as part of its rich history of athletic excellence.
