
FLCC Esports Crowned NJCAAe Tier 3 National Champions in League of Legends
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – Finger Lakes Community College Esports has claimed its fourth national title since Fall 2022, as the League of Legends program emerged victorious in the NJCAAe Tier 3 – Open Series National Championship.
On the night of the championship, the Lakers took on North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in a three-hour series, sweeping the match 3-0 to secure the title. The win marks another historic milestone for FLCC Esports and cements the program's position as one of the NJCAAe's elite competitors.
The Lakers championship roster featured student-athletes Hannah Fegley, Landon Hinkle Van Hook, Conner Love, Ben Domann, João Rocha, Joshua Crawford and Alec Curtice. Domann and Rocha were both members of the 2024 FLCC men's soccer NJCAA Region III Championship team.
The Lakers battled through a competitive spring season, facing off against 17 League of Legends teams and over 100 players nationwide, on their path to the national championship.
This victory adds to an already impressive collection of titles for the program, joining previous national championships in Rainbow Six Siege, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Fortnite Build.
