Lakers Claim Victory Over Royals

The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team defeated Schenectady County Community College yesterday by a score of 91-70.  The Lakers have now improved their overall record to 7-6.

depside being without a handful of their playmakers, the Lakers were able to outscore the Royals in both halves of play last night.  Finger Lakes CC ended the game with 91 points over Schenectady CCC who scored 70.

The Lakers were led by Kievonn Banks.  In his first game of the season, Banks scored 53 points for the Lakers and set a new single game record for most points.  The record was previously held by Duncan Jensen who scored 47 points against Tompkins Cortland CC in 1979.  Banks also added 13 rebounds and 6 steals for the Lakers.

Torry Wright scored 17 points, 16 rebounds and 4 steals against the Royals.  Kadeem Fulton added another 11 points and 5 rebounds for Finger Lakes.

The Lakers will return to action Thursday against SUNY Broome in a Region III matchup.  Tipoff is set for 8pm.
