Lakers Fall in Road Matchup Against the Spartans

AUBURN, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community Men's Basketball team was on the road Wednesday night in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup in Spartan Hall against the Cayuga Community College Spartans. 

Lakers Freshman Devon Payton (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates Chili) led the charge on offense, scoring 18 points, adding 1 assist, while pulling in 3 rebounds and 1 steal on the night. Teammate Jevonte Williams (Rochester, N.Y./ Rush Henrietta) was a playmaker for his teammates, dishing out 6 assists on offense and pulling in 2 rebounds and 3 steals on defense.

Freshman CJ James (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) earned a double-double, with 16 points and 11 rebounds, to go along with a strong effort on defense, adding 3 steals and 1 block. Teammate Ben Waterman (Savannah, N.Y.) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 1 block on the night. In the start, Freshman Austin Franklin (Hunstville, A.L./ Prince George) added 10 points, 2 assists and 1 block on the night.

The Lakers play next on the road against the Lazers of Onondaga Community College Saturday, February 12th at 4 PM.
