
Reaves Jr. Leads the Charge as Lakers Earn First Win Over Onondaga, 92-74
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's basketball team secured their first victory of the season with a commanding 92-74 win over Onondaga Community College.
Sophomore guard James Reaves Jr. (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) was in the zone, leading all scorers with 31 points on an efficient 12-17 shooting, including 5-6 from beyond the arc; a season-high. Reaves also controlled the boards, grabbing 12 rebounds to complete a double-double. Classmate Bruce Wilder Jr. (Rochester, N.Y./Fairport) added 19 points, going 7-13 from the free-throw line, while Kellen Foster (Newark, N.Y./Newark) chipped in 15 points and dished out four assists.
The Lakers shot a blistering 60.3% from the field and hit 38.9% of their three-point attempts, keeping Onondaga on the back foot early. The team will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup tomorrow Friday, November 22nd against the Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks.
