CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's basketball team faced a tough challenge against Mohawk Valley Community College, falling 77-45. Despite strong efforts on the boards, the Lakers shooting struggles proved to be the difference maker as the Hawks too advantage of their opportunities of defense.
Jace Brown (Red Creek, N.Y./Red Creek) led the Lakers with 11 points and 7 rebounds, continuing his consistent play. Bruce Wilder Jr. (Rochester, N.Y./Fairport) scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds, while James Reaves Jr. (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) added 7 points and 7 rebounds, making an impact on the glass.
The Lakers worked hard on the boards, pulling down 43 total rebounds, including 18 offensive boards, but were unable to capitalize on second-chance opportunities. Turnovers and missed shots allowed Mohawk Valley to maintain control throughout the game.
