Lakers Fall in Regional Matchup on the Road

DRYDEN, N.Y. - The Lakers men's lacrosse team traveled to Tompkins-Cortland Community College for a regular season NJCAA Region III matchup with the Panthers. The Lakers entered the matchup with a game under their belt in the Panthers season opener.
Despite a close start, with the two teams tied 1 a piece to start the 2nd quarter, the Lakers would drop their second game of the season, 12-4.
Lakers goalie Caleb George-Cady (Newark, N.Y./ Newark), put up an impressive performance, making 26 saves throughout the game.
On the attack, several players stood out for the Lakers. Tre Lloyd (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) led the way with 2 goals, while Matthew McKay (Rochester, N.Y./ Irondequoit) added his fourth and fifth goals of the season with 2 goals and an assist against the Panthers. Additionally for the Lakers, sophomore Charlie Cheney (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) added an assist to round out the offensive performance for the Lakers.
The Lakers will now have over a week to prepare for a road matchup with Genesee Community College on March 28th at 7 PM. The Lakers will look to get back on track after back-to-back strong starts against Herkimer and Tompkins Cortland.
