HERKIMER, NY -- The Finger Lakes Men's Soccer team lost the the top team in the nation, Herkimer County Community College, 8-0 on Tuesday in the NJCAA Region III Semi-Finals.

The Lakers got a pair of early chances against the Generals. Paul Palmgreen got an early shot on goal and Heath Walker had a pair of early headers against Herkimer. His second one was towards the far post, but the General keeper was able to make the save. Herkimer would take control of the game, possessing the ball for most the half. The Generals scored five unanswered goals and led 5-0 at halftime. Herkimer maintained the pressure in the second half and added three more goals on their way to an 8-0 victory.

The loss eleminates Finger Lakes from the postseason and ends their 2014 season with a 9-9-2 record.
