Men's Soccer Sweeps over Holiday Weekend

The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team took both games this past holiday weekend, defeating Clinton CC on Saturday, September 3 (3-0) and North Country CC on Sunday, September 4 (3-0).  The Lakers improve their record to 3-1 overall.

The Lakers dominated the field on Saturday recording 16 total shots on goal.  John Broyles (Victor, NY) scored first for Finger Lakes in the 36th minute of play.  Brady Adair (Geneva, NY) scored for the Lakers just before the half to put Finger Lakes up 2-0.  

Brandon Valentin (Andover, NY) rounded out the Lakers scoring in the 48th minute to wrap up the victory.  Easton Moore played all 90 minutes in the net for the Lakers, recording two saves.

The Lakers took a 3-0 victory over the Saints from North Country CC on Sunday. Brandon Valentin scored first for the Lakers of an assists from Tanner Pierce (Livonia, NY).  Pierce later got a goal of his own off a feed from John Boyles.  

Valentin received his second goal of the day during the second half of play, putting the game out of reach for the Saints.   Easton Moore (Saranac Lake, NY) played a complete game in goal for the Lakers recording seven saves and his second shutout of the season.  

The Lakers will have their home opener this Wednesday, September 7 when they host the visiting Kats from Erie Community College in a NJCAA Region III matchup.  Kickoff is set for 3pm.
