Men Fall Just Short Of Season Opener Victory

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Soccer team kicked off their 2018-2019 season against the SUNY Broome Hornets. After a hard battle, the Lakers lost 1-0.

The Lakers kept the game at no score for the entire first half. It wasn't until halfway through the second half that the Hornets scored their only goal. Bennett Miller scored unassisted, and that would be the last of the scoring for the game.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Derek McArthur with two shots, and Goal Keeper, Travis Cotton, with eight saves.

The Lakers will play again this weekend at the Tompkins Cortland Community College Tournament. They will play Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday, and Holyoke Community College on Sunday.
