CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team beat the Erie Community College Kats, 8 –1 Wednesday night at FLCC's turf facility. This win pushed the Lakers' record to 2 – 1 on the season.

The Lakers struck early and never looked back, scoring five goals in the first half. In the fourth minute, freshman Evan Stevely (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) struck first to break the ice and give the Lakers the lead off an assist from freshman Chuck Domm (East Rochester, N.Y./East Rochester). In the fifteenth minute, Chuck Domm scored his first goal of the game off from a feed from Stevely. The defense was relentless for the Lakers, as they held the Cats scoreless for the first 60 minutes.

In the 20th minute, freshman Carson DeVinney (Perry, N.Y./Perry) extended the Lakers lead to 3-0 off a pass from Stevely. Less than two minutes later, in the 21st minute, Stevely netted his second goal of the game. He would finish with two goals and two assists on the night. Freshman Chuck Domm finished off the first half attack with his second goal of the game, in the 41st minute off a pass from freshman Kayden Servais (Holley, N.Y./Holley). The Lakers completed the first half shutout in convincing fashion, building a comfortable 5-0 lead heading into the half.

Out of the break, Chuck Domm didn't miss a beat, scoring off an assist from Russell Domm in the 51st minute. Less than a minute later, in the 52nd minute, DeVinney connected for another tally off an assist from Gunnar Wetzel (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima). To avoid the shutout, the Erie Community College Cats scored their lone goal as Morris Morlock set up teammate Husseni Hassani in the 59th minute. Freshman Aidan Vitticore (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) scored his first goal of the season off an assist from freshman defender Isaiah Johnson (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) to close out the scoring.
