Lakers Shutout Regional Opponent

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team improved to 3-2 with a 6-0 shutout victory against Jamestown Community College at FLCC's Turf Facility Wednesday night. The Lakers played to their strengths, placing pinpoint passes to set up one-on-one chances with the Jamestown goalie.

The Lakers broke through in the 10th minute as freshman Carson Williams (Avon, N.Y./Avon) set up classmate Isaiah Johnson (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) for a 1-0 lead. In the 27th minute, freshman Russell Domm (East Rochester, N.Y./East Rochester) converted off from a feed from freshman Evan Stevely (Rochester, N.Y./ Bishop Kearney) for a 2-0 lead, then the Lakers pushed the advantage to 3-0 two minutes later, when freshman Chuck Domm (East Rochester, N.Y./East Rochester) scored off an assist from Evan Stevely

Chuck Domm extended the Lakers lead to 4-0 off another feed from Stevely in the 36th minute, Stevely's third assist of the opening half, as FLCC took a 4-0 lead into halftime.

The Lakers carried over their impressive performance to the second half, as Williams set up Chuck Domm for his third goal. Sophomore Carson DeVinney (Perry, N.Y./Perry) finished the Laker scoring later in the half. The Jayhawks were efficient, with 10 of their 14 shots going on goal, but freshman goalie Mike Rasciatore (East Rochester, N.Y./East Rochester) thwarted the Jayhawks' attack and finished with 10 saves on the night. 

The Lakers travel to Fredonia Friday night for a game with the Fredonia JV squad at 7 p.m.. The Lakers then return home Sunday afternoon for a 2:30 p.m. match against Monroe Community College.
