The General struck back to tie the game, but Freshman Gunnar Wetzel (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./ Honeoye Falls-Lima) broke the tie off a feed from Chuck Domm to put Lakers up 2-1 in the 34'. The Laker ultimately would go into the second half of the match with a 2-1 lead.

Coming out of the break, the Lakers looked to extend their lead and they did just that when Evan Stevely chipped in a goal off from an assist from teammate Russell Domm (East Rochester, N.Y./ East Rochester) in the 64'. Midway through the second half the Lakers enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 lead, however the Generals of Herkimer had different plans, scoring goals in the 69' and 80' to tie the game at the end of regulation.
