HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team traveled to Herkimer College for an NJCAA Region III matchup on Saturday, September 3rd. The Lakers' struggles would continue, as the team battled to find their form on the pitch. The Generals would best the Lakers in the matchup, improving to 2-0, while the Lakers would fall to 0-2.
Lakers Freshman Aidan Smith (Corning, N.Y./ Corning-Painted Post) scored the lone goal for the Lakers, his first of the season. Freshman goalie Donovan Youmans (Addison, N.Y./ Addison) earned the start in the goal, making 10 saves in his season debut.
The Lakers will look to rebound from their loss when they host the Fulton-Montgomery Raiders in their home opener on September 10th at 3pm.
