Lakers Drop Home Opener to Regional Opponent

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team hosted the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Raiders for the Laker's home opener. The team would struggle to find a rhythm on the pitch, with the Raiders ultimately coming out on top in a 9-1 finish.

Freshman forward Aidan Smith (Corning, N.Y./ Corning-Painted Post) would lead the Lakers with 2 shots, and 1 shot on goal that would convert for the Laker's lone goal of the game.

Sophomores Aidan Vitticore (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) and Schuyler Cole (North Rose, N.Y./ North Rose-Wolcott) would add three shots. Cole would have two shots, while Vitticore would have one shot on goal. Freshman Donovan Youmans (Addison, N.Y./ Addison) would earn his first start of the season in goal, making 8 saves in 90 minutes played.

The team will look to get back on track next Wednesday, September 14th when they host SUNY Jefferson in a 6:30 PM contest.
