ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team was on the road for a second-straight day as the Lakers traveled to the Southern Tier to take on the Elmira College Soaring Eagles. The non-region matchup would not bode well for the Lakers as they dropped to 0-2 after a 4-0 loss on the Soaring Eagles home field.
Earning his first start of the season was freshman Diego Reyna (Gautamela/ Bilingue Vista Hermosa) who earned the start in goal for the Lakers. Reyna would make 5 saves in his debut while conceding 4 goals.
Freshman teammates Andre Budrich (Saxony, Germany/ Oberland Gymnasium Seifhennersdorf) and Varun Naidoo (Johannesburg, South Africa/ Hillcrest) each were on target with 2 shots on goal in the match.
Teammates Daniel Medina (Mexico City, Mexico/ Tec Monterrey Santa Fe), Johnny Niles (Williamson, N.Y./ Williamson), Sergio Baron (Bogota/ Colombia), Marius Dalidet (Oullins, France/ Saint-Thomas O'Aquin-Veritas), and Joao Antonio Rocha (Sergipe, Brazil/ Colegio Master) each had a shot on goal apiece but were unable to convert on the goal-scoring opportunity.
