Team Effort Leads Lakers to 14-0 Victory Over North Country

SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team improved to 3-1-2 and extended their win streak to two with a 14-0 victory on the road against the North Country Community College Saints Sunday afternoon. Following a 17-0 win over Clinton Community College on Saturday, the Lakers leave the weekend having outscored their opponents 31-0.

In the match, freshman Ben Domann (Wuppertal, Germany/Gesmantschule Barmen) stood out, contributing five goals in the match, while classmate Carlos Aguiar (Sergipe, Brazil/Colegio Amadeus) added two goals and an assist to the tally. Freshman Robin Giesing (Essen, Germany/Gymnasium-Essen-Werden) also played a key role, recoridng a goal and two assists.

Sophomore Joao Antonio Rocha (Sergipe, Brazil/Colegio Master) helped orchestrate the offense, finishing with three assists, while teammates Joao Viana (Sergipe, Brazil/Colegio Master), Gary Cooper (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia), and Ben Berger (Weil am Rhein, Germany/Kaufmannische Schule Lorrach) each added a goal of their own. Domann's five-goal performance led a strong offensive showign that saw the Lakers finish with 31 shots, 14 of which finding the back of the net.

On the defensive end, freshman goalkeeper Aiden Nelson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) secured the clean sheet, making three saves. The team will return home for their next match on Wednesday, September 11th at 6:30 PM when they will face the SUNY Jefferson Cannoneers.
