Lakers Draw With Cannoneers in Conference Showdown

Lakers Draw With Cannoneers in Conference Showdown

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team saw their conference matchup with the visiting SUNY Jefferson Cannoneers Wednesday evening end in a draw at 0-0.

A defensive chess match between the teams allowed neither to gain any momentum on offense. The Lakers earned several opportunities to score the game winner, outshooting the Cannoneers 23-3 and earning 9 corner kicks to their 4. Freshman Aiden Nelson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) stood tall in goal to help the Lakers secure the draw. Nelson would make a key save down the stretch at the 62' mark that would have put the Cannoneers up one.

The Lakers are back in action this weekend this Saturday at 2:30 PM with the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panthers.
