CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's volleyball team handled business at home on Sunday, defeating Bryant & Stratton - Wisconsin in four sets.

Led by freshman Aaron Hennessy (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva), the Lakers defeated the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton - Wisconsin 3 to 1. Hennessy delivered a team-high 7 kills on 15 attempts, which would round out to a hitting percentage of .333, and bring his point total to 9. Alongside Hennessy was Ian Meeks (Victor, N.Y./Victor), who posted an impressive outing on both offense and defense. The standout sophomore finished the day with 6 kills and also contributed 5 service aces, 4 digs, 1 solo block, and 3 block assists. Meeks continues to prove why he is one of the most versatile players on the team.

Bryce Nickson (Penfield, N.Y/Penfield) established himself as the focal point of the Laker defense in the match, contributing a team-high 12 digs. This marks the 7th game of the season where Nickson has had a double-digit dig total. Another pivotal piece of the defense was starter AJ DeBalso (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua), as he added 6 digs to his tally. DeBalso was also vocal on the offensive side of things, as the sophomore brought in 1 kill on 2 attempts, ending the day with a team-high hitting percentage of .500.

On the same side of things was Bryce Ceravolo (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua), who once again proved himself to be a vital part of the dominant Laker offense. The Canandaigua native would finish the day with 36 assists, a number that led the team by a wide margin. Ceravolo assisted in other departments, too, by adding 2 service aces and 4 digs to his point total of 3. Daniel Seymour (Bellmore, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) added an element of depth, as he would come off the bench and finish with 3 kills on 10 attempts, supplying his point total of 6. Seymour used his height to his advantage as well, as he controlled the net by bringing in 4 block assists and 1 solo block.

The Lakers will now look ahead to March 26th, where they will seek to improve their season win total to 24. The squad will welcome the Syracuse University Club team to Putt Moore Court, as the matchup will take place at 7:00 PM.
