Lakers Finish Buffalo State in Three to Conclude Regular Season

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's volleyball team concluded their regular season with a win over Division III SUNY Buffalo State at the Bengals home court. The Lakers improved to 27-3 to wrap up the regular season.

Evan Lukasciewicz (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) and Nick Ferris (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) led the offensive charge for the Lakers. Lukasciewicz, With a stellar .500 hitting percentage, racked up 13 kills, adding 14.5 points to the team's tally. Ferris followed closely, notching 8 kills on a .286 hitting percentage, adding a solo block and 7 block assists to amass 14.5 points for the day.

Sophomore Daniel Seymour (Bellmore, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) played a significant role in the victory, delivering 7 kills on an efficient .455 hitting percentage. His performance, complemented by 3 block assists, contributed to 8.5 points on the day. The orchestration of the Lakers' attack was managed by sophomore Bryce Ceravolo (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) who dished out 31 assists in 3 sets played. Defensively, AJ DeBalso (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) and Bryce Nickson (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) anchored the backcourt. DeBalso led the team with 11 digs, while Nickson matched DeBalso's tally. 

The Lakers will carry their 15-match win streak into the NJCAA National Invitational Tournament this coming Friday, April 12th where they will open up pool play at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Il. against Atlantic Cape Community College at 10 AM, followed by a matchup with Ocean County College at 4 PM. Additional championship information will be released in the coming days.
