Men's Cross Country Ranked 3rd in Northeast Region
The Finger Lakes Community College men's cross country team opens the 2021 season at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, when the Lakers travel to SUNY Cobleskill to compete in the Steven A. Warde Invitational.
The Lakers are coming off a successful 2020 fall season that saw the College claim both the Mid-States Athletic Conference (MSAC) Championships and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region III Championships. On the heels of last year's victories, and with a strong team set to compete this fall, led by sophomore Giovanni Ventura, (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva), the Lakers were ranked third in the Northeast by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for Division III institutions.
The only schools in the region ranked higher than FLCC were CUNY Queensborough Community College and the Fashion Institute of Technology.
FLCC is coached by Jayden Donahue, who enters his third season leading the cross country program.
