Men's Cross Country Places 2nd at Bruce Bridgeman Invite
CANANDAIGUA — Sophomore Giovanni Ventura (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) logged a fourth-place on his home course for the Finger Lakes Community College men's cross country team during Saturday's annual Bruce Bridgeman Invitational.
Ventura ran the 8K course in 29 minutes and 46 seconds as the Lakers earned a second-place team finish. FLCC's 60 points trailed only Broome Community College, which placed five of the top six finishers en route to scoring 17 points.
Kyle Green was FLCC's second-fastest runner, racing in a time of 32:40 to finish 10th. He was followed by John Zimmerman, who ran in 33 minutes flat to finish 12th, Jacob DiGiovanni, who finished 15th with a time of 34:17, and Michael Pacer, who finished 19th with a time of 35:33.
The Lakers return to action next Saturday morning, traveling to Roberts Wesleyan College to compete in the annual Harry E. Anderson Invitational. The 8K race starts at 10 a.m.
