Lakers Complete 7th Place Team Finish
CLINTON, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Cross Country team competed in the Hamilton College Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 9th. The Lakers earned a 7th place finish as a team, with two runners earning personal records on the day.
The top finisher for the Lakers was Freshman John Zimmerman (Middlesex, N.Y./ Marcus Whitman) with a PR of 31 minutes and 14.4 seconds. Sophomore Giovanni Ventura (Geneva, N.Y./ Geneva) followed closely, completing the 8k course in 31 minutes and 30.9 second.
Freshman Kyle Green earned a 54th place finish, completing the course in 31 minutes and 52.7 seconds, Jacob DiGiovanni (Waterloo, N.Y./ Waterloo) earned a PR, finishing the course in 33 minutes and .4 seconds. Freshman Jake Williams (Lima, N.Y./ Honeoye Falls-Lima) rounded out the event for Lakers with a finish of 36 minutes and 53.2 seconds.
The Lakers prepare for their next race, the biggest thus far on the season when the team competes in the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship, which will be held at Tompkins Cortland Community College on Oct. 23rd .
