Men's X/C Earns Top 15 Finish at Regionals
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Cross Country team competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region III Cross Country Championships. The student-athletes battled the elements with rain making the Finger Lakes Community College course slick.
Sophomore Giovanni Ventura (Geneva, N.Y./ Geneva) earned the top finish for the Lakers, finishing in 12thplace and completing the course in 31 minutes and 7 seconds. Freshman John Zimmerman (Middlesex, N.Y./ Marcus Whitman) followed closely behind Ventura, completing the course in 31 minutes and 23 seconds and earning a 14th place finish.
Freshman Kyle Green had the third-best finish for the Lakers, finishing 16th and completing the course in 31 minutes and 57 seconds. The Lakers had finishes from Garett Lagenor with a time of 33 minutes and 52 seconds, Jacob DiGiovanni (Waterloo, N.Y./ Waterloo) with a finish in 34 minutes and 20 seconds and Jake Williams (Lima, N.Y./ Honeoye Falls-Lima) with a finish in 38 minutes and 31 seconds.
With the Lakers finish, the team looks ahead to the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship hosted by Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Georgia on November, 13th .
