CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team was at home in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup with the visiting Cannoneers of SUNY Jefferson. The Cannoneers came away with the win at the end of the game, with a final score of, 88-53.
The Lakers were led by starting guards Mary Ellen Querrie (Romulus, N.Y./ Romulus) and Hayley Andersen (Penn Yan, N.Y./ Penn Yan). Querrie led the way with 20 points and 1 assist on offense, while contributing 2 steals and 3 rebounds. For Andersen, she added 20 points and 3 rebounds.
Starting at the Forward position, Mackenzie Johnson-Boser (Dansville, N.Y./ Dansville) played a big role, contributing 7 points and 4 assists on offense, while pulling in 7 total rebounds. Guard Ericka Moody (Lyons, N.Y./ Lyons) continued her stellar play on the boards, pulling in 9 total rebounds, while adding 3 assists and 1 block. Freshman Forward Abby Nelson (North Rose, N.Y./ North Rose-Wolcott) added 4 points and 4 rebounds on the afternoon for the Lakers.
The Lakers return to action, Tuesday February 1st in a NJCAA Region III matchup with the Onondaga Community College Lazers on the Putt Moore Court at 6 PM.
