CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - Facing one of the toughest opponents of the season, the Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team fell 99-31 to Division II powerhouse SUNY Niagara. The Thunderwolves, entering the game undefeated at 8-0, showcased their dominance on both ends of the floor.
Despite the challenging matchup, Jazzmyn Lewis (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) led the Lakers with 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, continuing to contribute in multiple facets of the game. Kierra Shaughnessy (Canastota, N.Y./Canastota) added 6 points and 5 rebounds, while Ella Robinson (Hallstead, PA./Blue Ridge) also chipped in 6 points and 5 rebounds, battling in the post against tough competition.
The Lakers worked hard on the boards, collecting 32 rebounds, but struggled offensively. Turnovers also proved costly, as SUNY Niagara capitalized on 34 giveaways to maintain control throughout the game.
The Lakers will use the game as motivation heading into their next game on Saturday, December 7th at 1 PM at SUNY Adirondack.
